[WE8S] Windows Embedded Standard 8 Community Technology Preview 開放下載

隨著Windows 8 Consumer Preview在2/29開放下載，Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP版本緊接著在3/1開放下載，開發人員已可以在Windows Embedded Standard 8 Community Technology Preview 取得WES8 CTP相關資訊及開發工具下載

至2012/3/13前，總共包含6組檔案可下載

• Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP 32bit Bootable IBW
• Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP 64bit Bootable IBW
• Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP Toolkit
• Windows Embedded Standard 8 Release Notes Documentation
• Module for Windows 8 Shell
• Unified Write Filter LAB

WES8 Toolkit的軟、硬體安裝需求如下

Hardware Requirements

• 1 GHz 32 bit (x86) or 64 bit (x64) processor
• 1 GB of system memory (32 bit), 2 GB of system memory (64 bit)
• 7 GB of free hard disk space for complete installation of the toolkit
• DVD-ROM drive
• USB 2.0 port

Software Requirements

• Windows 7 SP1 operating system.

Windows Embedded Standard 8 CTP Toolkit安裝

安裝完畢後，在所有程式下，Windows Embedded Standard 8看到包含3套工具

• Image Configuration Editor
• Module Designer
• Windows Embedded Developer Update (WEDU)

當然在整個開發環境上，與前一代Windows Embedded Standard 7，並無太大差異
但其中新增了非常方便的一組工具「Module Desinger」，非常大力推崇這套工具，該工具可以幫助開發人員快速新增OEM Module(WES8已將WES7的Package改稱Module)，並可透過MD設定相依性(Dependency)，後面我會針對Module Designer再做詳細的介紹

最後，附上Windows Embedded Standard 8 Community Technology Preview的畫面，與Windows 8 Consumer Preview遜色許多，畢竟目前只是CTP版本
